journal 1

for this jounrnal i choose "i am legend" directed by Francis Lawrence was a very enjoyale movie for me. i choose to read a positive review by James Berardinelli. this critic pretty much says every thing i agree with. that the first 2/3 of the movie is the better of the movie but that overall it wont win any awards but was enjoyable movie to watch.

The first two-thirds of I Am Legend are superior to the fast-paced,
action-oriented final 35 minutes. There's a key event that occurs just past
the hour mark and, after that, the movie feels more like a typical Hollywood
adventure than the introspective, thought-provoking production that graces
the screens for the first 65 minutes. The ending, while not a complete
cop-out, diverges from that of Matheson's book and feels a little too
convenient and facile. For most of the movie, character drives plot. The
closer we get to the conclusion, the more plot drives character.

this guote is my whole take on the film and reflect all i think about "i am legend" and i read other reviews and james had all the good info as with others but expressed his view in a way that i could understand and recognize with it.
Will Smith pulls off this half-insane role perfectly.

it was a difficult role to play and he fit it like a t. it was like a scientist who found a cure and then it turned the people into monsters so manhatten had to be evacuated and he stayed to try and find a cure.

but this movie review was pretty much my thoughts in a nut shell.

Zach,

OK start. Journal entries should be around 500 words or so -- pick out specific ideas from the review that you agree or disagree with and expand on why you feel that way, and use evidence from the movie.
