for this post i thought i could relate the movie nashville to a kind of current event. i think the tupac notorious B.I.G. killing were, to me atleast, similar in retrospect. all having to do with the killing of huge music icons of the time wether it was barbra jean in the 70's or tupac and biggie smalls in the 90's. in nashville there was alot of political stuff going around and there was always the voice supporting the person running for the president. barbra jeans husband didnt want her to sing at the one place if there was gonna be political referances in the background but she did anyway and got herself killed while on the other hand tupac and biggie smalls were gangstas that spoke out against the government and put alot of thing out there for people to hear. and alot of people listened to them. but in the end biggie and tupac were gunned down just like barbra jean. also i think in class we talked about nashville
sparking the killings of movie or music stars. so that is a good tie in to this is maybe if this movie wasnt put out there they would be alive but i dont think it would have mattered personally. nashville also depicted alot of people and alot of different personalitys which is a good representation of our society today the crazy, the talented the cheaters, the swingers, the ddoubters, the people who think they r talented but really arent. nashville is just a good representation of our society and can also tie into current events like the killings of tupac and biggie smalls
